Others Shoehorn 60 cmThe Salvation Army's concept of ethical trade
A beautiful handmade shoehorn in wood that measures 60 cm in length. The shoe horn is designed by the Norwegian product designer Sverre Uhnger, in collaboration with Others’ carpenters at their workshop in Jessore, Bangladesh.
The shoe horn has a practical leather cord for hanging in the hallway. It also comes with a storage bag to use when you want to take the shoehorn with you when traveling. The bag is handmade from jute.
In choosing the type of wood, it was emphasized that the source should be sustainable, and that one should use the wood material that was already available at the workshop in Jessore. They chose to use the type of wood locally known as Gamari, which is often grown in gardens and roadsides and sold when a family needs an extra income. The shoehorn is inserted with oil to give it a golden surface.
