Others Star Ornament

Handmade tree star from Others’ carpentry workshop in Bangladesh.

The stars are made from the local tree species Gamari, a sustainable tree that grows wild, requires little water during the growing season and can be planted in the garden to become an extra income for a family when harvested. The star measures about 10 cm from tip to tip and has a three-dimensional design.

The carpenter Anath is responsible for the design and the stars are carved and polished by hand by Anath and the rest of the guys at the carpentry workshop. A secluded, dusty sample has become one of Others’ best-selling Christmas products and Anath is very proud of the design and reception the star has received.

The stars bring hope and a fair salary that creates new opportunities for carpenters at the workshop in Jessore, Bangladesh.
